This is where Sony pushes the limits "Honami" (20MP camera, 4K video)
If you have been an avid or rather a diehard
Sony Xperia follower, then you must be aware of the company’s pace setting
trend when it comes to mobile technology and new technology such as NFC. One
more thing you should know is that it has never been the company's forte when
keeping the lid on new products since the Sony Ericsson days. For a few months,
we have been hearing about the next flagship code named "Honami". The
fan pages have been rife with guesses and predictions of how the phone will be
looking like and even what OS and internal hardware it will have.
Sony has never been good
with flagships no matter what they do especially ever since they began the
Xperia range. This is subject to the Xperia 10, Xperia S and now the Xperia Z.
The first two phones never saw any timely launch from announcement and were disappointing
with the screens being scratch magnets, poor sound quality and finally the
worst after sales service including delayed firmware and OS updates. The Xperia
Z has had issues the screen as well as the speaker sound quality. I say this
from a first-hand experience and as a fan-boy, it is fun to be an early adopter
but not with Sony, I am sorry to say so. The hardware is always right but there
lacks standardization across the company's product and speaking of which this
is not only with mobile communication gadgets.
Well Sony is expected in
the next few days to announce its next big code name "Honami" just a
few days after announcing the Xperia Z ultra which has set the record for being
the largest mobile phone which I honestly believe should be a phablet. The phone seemingly runs on a Snapdragon 800
processor, has a 20 megapixel sensor and can record 4K videos in 4000 x 2000
resolution. The last spec seems interesting even though the aspect ratio is
unusual.
Other than that, there are several changes to the UI on the phone.
You can see a new clock, calendar, calculator and contacts apps. You can now
place multiple Small Apps on screen at once and there is a new keyboard as
well. Sony also seems to have added a new augmented reality app.
The question still remains; will this phone meet our expectations?
