Asus MeMo Pad FHD 10 with Intel Atom CPU announced at Computex 2013

The Asus MeMo Pad FHD 10 has been announced today at Computex 2013 in Taiwan.

The processor inside the MeMo FHD 10 is a dual-core Intel Atom Z2560, running at 1.6 GHz (using Intel's Hyper-Threading technology for better graphics and energy efficiency), with the tablet coming with 16 or 32GB of storage space, expandable via microSD.

The tablet, announced at the same event where Asus chairman Jonney Shih unveiled a few other products (including the new MeMo Pad HD 7), has a 10-inch IPS display at a resolution of 1920 x 1200, which should be enough for users to enjoy movies in full quality. Asus promises that the display has viewing angles of up to 178 degrees. Asus' SonicMaster audio technology is also present on board.

The main camera is a 5MP, capable of 1080p video recording, while the front shooter is a 1.2MP. The battery is promised to offer up to 10 hours of 720p video playback.

The Asus MeMo Pad FHD 10, which will be available in three colors – Royal Blue, Silk White, and Vivid Pink, weighs 580 grams and is 9.5 millimeters thick. It comes, just like the MeMo Pad HD 7, with a protective TransCover, which can also be used as a stand for when you're watching content on your tablet.

The new 10 inch tablet runs Android 4.2 out of the box.

There are just a couple of details that the company has not yet revealed about the new device – how much it will cost, as well as when and where it would be available. However, I'm pretty sure we'll find that out, sooner rather than later.
