10% of sexts sent to the wrong person

Are you the sexting type whose gotten yourself in trouble for sending a sext to the wrong person? Well, don’t feel bad, as 1 in 10 mobile phone users send sexts to the wrong person, this according to the latest poll conducted by U.K.-based mobile news siteRecombu.
The site polled 2,000 adults, the study revealed that almost half (47%) of England sends inappropriate sexts to the person their shacking up with. Moreover, about 11 percent have mistakenly sent sexts to the wrong person, such as family members or friends. Ouch. The numbers go even further, with 16 percent of men being the most likely to send accidental sexts.
The study also showed women sent more sexts than men, as 48 percent of women surveyed have sent a sexts to a significant other, compared to 45 percent of men. This margin isn’t too far apart. The real kicker was how the research showed folks were more comfortable sending sexts rather than saying it in person. I guess it’s easier hiding the shame behind a phone, than in person.
Furthermore, the study sheds some light on how both men and women spit game to a potential date or new partner, as both genders typically wait an hour to respond to a text. This gives the next person the impression that you’re not too eager to get things rolling, instead, it downplays the significance entirely — you know, it’s not good to come off as too excited or easy.
Lastly, the study proved again, women are the biggest players, showing one in five  wait for the man to text first, while one in ten men will wait to hear from a woman first before sending a text. Check out the inforgraphic below.
