Xperia Tipo now in Kenya

Given my passion for mobile telecommunication most of my friends have come to me for advice on the latest cellular gadget to acquire. It has never been a challenge until my girlfriend wanted to get herself a twin sim phone with a descent display. Being the perfectionist I am, this dictated that I was not going to let her walk around with a dumb phone and so I hit the internet and also begun talking to a few local dealers who gladly welcomed me. I initially had thought of the 2011 Xperia range for the prices had really fallen but the phones could not be found. To make the matters worse, Krishna International had stopped selling single pieces at wholesale price. I was not able to recommend her a Sony but then Again, why not share what I stumbled upon?

Sony Mobile has two low-end handsets in the form of the Xperia tipo (ST21a, ST21i) and Xperia tipo dual (ST21i2, ST21a2) and I am reliably informed that they have hit our shores and will be retailing at around           Kes 18,000/=. This should come at no surprise given that a majority of the players in the industry especially android seem to have catered for the lower segment of the market.  The Xperia tipo uses the same 800MHz Qualcomm MSM7225A chipset seen in the Xperia miro and comes with 512MB RAM and 2.9GB of internal storage (2.5GB user accessible) along with micro SD memory card support. The Xperia tipo dual is the same handset as the Xperia tipo apart from the fact that it has dual sim capability. Judging from the images, this is
Both models come with a 3.2-inch (320 x 480) display. Other features include a 3.2MP camera resolution with VGA video recording and a 1500mAh battery capable of 5 hours of talk time and 8 hours of video playback. The Xperia tipo will come in four colours (Classic Black, Classic White, Deep Red and Navy Blue) whilst the Xperia tipo dual will be available in two colours (Serene black and Classic silver). Both phones come with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box which puts them ahead of the competition. My take is that you can never go wrong with this phone for Sony as a brand topped up Xperia spells quality in imaging, performance and audio. I will be doing an unboxing soon.

  4. Whoa there, Sony. Hot on the heels of the Sony Xperia Tipo. Though Xperia Tipo phone is a mere tentative step from a back-to-basics feature phone, this do come preloaded with the latest Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, despite the dinky form factor a mere 103 x 57 x 13mm and just 99.4g in weight. Sony Xperia Tipo is fitted with a 800 MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM7225AA processor and 3.2-inch touchscreen, while camera wise we are looking at a 3.2-megapixel snapper with 4x digital zoom. Email from anywhere and always in sync. All the apps you need. Your Xperia phone has excellent business capabilities.
