“Sony's Got a Quad Core Xperia Tablet in the Works”

Sony's Xperia line is about to get bigger. The electronics company is apparently working on a Tegra 3-powered 10-inch tablet as a successor to its unique Tablet S slate. Announced last year, the Tablet S featured a wedge-like design, Nvidia's dual-core Tegra 2 CPU and a 9.4-inch touchscreen. Now it seems Sony is ready to update its tablet line with something a little more powerful. However, unlike the Tablet S, this new tablet will bear the same 'Xperia' branding that appears on Sony's phones.

According to leaked images obtained by German news site Mobiflip, Sony's new creation will boast Nvidia's Tegra 3 chip and will come in 16GB, 32GB or 64GB capacities. The device is said to be thinner and lighter than the Tablet S but will maintain the same wedge-shape. Additionally, consumers can expect an aluminum splash-proof body, Android 4.0 or later, WiFi, 3G, and a 6000mAh.
Perhaps the most interesting part is that the tablet will also feature an optional keyboard cover similar to the Microsoft Surface keyboard that had us all drooling back in June. This cover will cover the entire tablet and fold at the back to form a stand. As far as pricing is concerned, the leaked slides put this particular accessory at $100. Other accessories include a docking station, dock speaker, cradle, stand, and various covers. These range in price from $40 to $120. Tentative pricing for the tablet is listed as $449.99 (16GB), $549.99 (32GB), and $649.99 (64GB).
