If I Were To replace My Smart Phone: John's phone

Now that CCK has decided to build a great-wall, I am forced to rethink my cyber world foot print. It is not that I am surprised at this revelation by the Nation Media group for I know they have been doing this big brother “ish” for a while now.
For those of you that know me in person then you will agree with me that I am sucker for smart phones and you can tell that just by the content of this blog. I am an early adopter with tech and gadgets and that means that I have a lot of my stuff online, I embraced Facebook when many were still in doubt and had to grow my friends list by spamming the schools mailing list during a career fare... Before that I remember filling in my email address to every site that predatorily fished for information and no doubt that's just silly if I am to look back.
I have been able to erase a majority of the information but as you might realize, I just sent all that stuff into the background including the silly college tags on Facebook. That’s not a big a concern to me for I do not want to run for the American presidency neither do I want to be a public figure that will attract that much of digging into my past. Oh wait a minute what if they decide to do so just for fun?
I am deliberating on getting me a simple phone with no data and text messaging. Something that takes me back to a plastic can and a string but not a Mlika mwizi; don’t get me wrong I will not be opting for any Chinese bootleg with poor quality. I wanna retain what I stand for more of retreating with dignity and NO am not from that part of the country if you questioning my pride. Mediocre is not in my blueprint. This is informed by the fact that I have realized that I am spending so much on data at the expense of having everything I do being monitored. I am not paranoid; I use no paid app on my phone…. It’s not that I cannot afford it, but just coz I am an Mpesa generation and it has not been integrated into the appstore payment options. The free depending on the developer can range from tracking your location, reading your call log, phone number and text messages as well as sending all that data anonymously. Well those are just but some of my concerns and if I ever choose to ditch my smartphone, then I am getting me a John's phone!
