AIRTEL TO LAUNCH 21.1Mbps COUNTRYWIDE MOBILE BROADBAND

The next few weeks will see the launch of 21.1Mbps speed 3G by Airtel Kenya. This according to our reliable source could be up-gradable to 42.1Mbps. This is just a few months after the launch of 21.1 Mbps by Orange Kenya as well as a pilot project by Safaricom,
This means that the competion for the data market is going to be taken a notch higher considering the fact that safaricom has been enjoying a near monopoly on the 3G platform, with the likes of Orange Kenya trieng to penetrate the market only to scartch the surface.
Just like Safaricom though, Airtel is going to need a market penetration strategy that has never been implimented before. Your guess is as good as mine but I do look forward to the introduction of bettter phones and not feature phonesas well as true 3G subject to fare usage and not making it looke like they are doing us a favor because Zuku is taking over the city.
My prediction
They will partner with the best mobile phone manufacturers on the market not Nokia nor huawei though.
We might see the best rates ever with true 3G
The emphasis might be put on data consumption rather than voice as this is where the goodies are
Post paid with better privileges such as a minimum of 1GB data, very attractive calling rates and maybe unlimited text messaging on the network.
Let us know what you think about this.
