Ever since we were kids, we all have looked up on some hero be it a man or a lady. remember super man, spider man, Bat man, Chuck Norris etc
Well, Just a band have brought us a long forgotten Kenyan Super hero. Well I gues he wasent that forgotten, it is said that he just put a pose on our thoughts about him. he return is triumphant, he comes back not on Donkey's back but on the social network. I bet everyone knows that Makmende is a very omnipresent super hero.
The use of technology by Just a Band is very encouraging in Kenya and the East Africa as a whole.
This is the first viral campaign that has been a success. I bet many of us do not understand on how it works. O.K let me brake it down. It is the reliance of the pass a long of a massage from one person to another especially in a social network. In this case, the have utilized Yutube, Twitter and face-book to popularize their video. I am very sure that we all cant wait to see them performing in Kenya.
The opportunities as a result of its success are many as Makmendes powers, from merchandise, beer, energy drinks to TV series and animation. From whitch eve r angle you look at it, any the entrepreneur in me tells me this guys have a whole market of generation X to support em.
The only disadvantage with viral marketing is burn out and that's is a very bad thing especially for such a success. lest something is done about it, we are not going to see this hype goes on for the next one month.
So, any ap developers out there hurry hurry. Create a Makmenkde phone application. We might as well make this oour Kenya Super hero if we turn it into a Super Hero or an Animation character...
